The possibility that Mudd was photographed at the inauguration (with  
Powell and Herold and other Booth conxpirators) is in Dorothy and Philip  
Kunhardt's "Twenty Days: A Narrative in Text and Pictures of the Assassination  of 
Abraham Lincoln" on page 197.  The Alexander Gardner photograph and a  
discussion of the other conspirators appearing in it can be found on pp  30-35.
