How to Make a PowerPoint Presentation

Open Microsoft Word

Choose Outline from the View Menu

Type your outline, using the turquoise arrows
to promote and demote entries. DO NOT press any extra enters on your keyboard.

Choose Save As from the File Menu

Type a file name (a string of up to 8 letters,
numbers, or combination of the two) and save to your disk in the A drive.

Exit Microsoft Word

Open Microsoft PowerPoint
-
Choose Open an existing presentation and click
on OK

The Open window will pop up. On the bottom left
to the right of Files of type, choose All Outlines
-
Now Open your Microsoft Word file.

Next, choose Save As from the File Menu, type
a file name (see step 5), and save it in your disk in the A drive. To
-
save in the future, use the shortcut CTRL-S, depressing
CTRL and S at the same time. You should save each time you make a
change because you wouldn’t want to have to all that work again!

From the View Menu choose Master > Slide Master

Choose Slide Miniature from the View Menu. You
may click on the slide miniature at any point to preview the changes you’ve
made.

From the Format Menu choose Apply Design.

Pick the design you like and click on Apply.

Again choose Master > Slide Master from the View
Menu.

Triple-click on "Click to edit Master title style"
to highlight this. Next, right-click to see your options for editing the
title.

Choose Center alignment from the shortcut buttons.

Click on Font to change the font, font style,
size, and color (click on more colors to get more options). Before
clicking on OK, click on Preview to make sure that it is clear and unique.

With "Click to edit Master title style" still
highlighted, right-click and choose Custom Animation. Pick an entry animation
. Preview it to see if you like it. DO NOT use any of the Appear Effects
for text.

Click on the Timing tab and
choose Automatically, 3 Seconds.

Triple-click on "Click to edit Master text styles"
and it’s sub-levels (everything in this box should be highlighted).

Repeat the same process you did for the title,
changing it’s appearance and color. DO NOT make the timing automatically.
It should be animated on Mouse click.

When you’re through Close the Slide Master View.

Click on your first slide and use the Slide Show
View to preview your show thus far.

Next, you should add a transition for your slides.
Choose Slide Transition from the Slide Show Menu. Choose an Effect, Medium
or Slow Speed, On Mouse Click and Apply to All. Again DO NOT add a sound.

Once again, play your slide show beginning with
slide one.

Note: If you edit a slide after the master slide
has been formatted, your changes will override the master formatting, and
even if you change the master, this slide will retain the features you
changed. If you wish to Reapply the master to a slide you have changed,
right-click the slide in Slide view. Choose SlideLayout and click on Reapply.
